We took one look at the tub and decided to start there. The car was purchased to be used as a hobby track/sport car. The body was showing its age. It needed rockers, floor pans (BIG hole in the pass. side foot well), trunk pan and a roll pan. The quarters, wheel wells, front clip and sub structures were luckly, solid as could be. Weird! And OEM BMW fenders. BONUS! So if the owner was going to pound on the body durring track use. (and it gets pounded on.) It was the most important part of the build. We are building a rigid foundation to at later points produce power. The chassis has the apointments that the driver needs to carry speed through the course. The WHP concerns are second to a balanced, solid, clean foundation here. Its currently undergoing the chassis work. More to come.... |
